Danielle's Coffee Cake

Photobucket

Who doesn't like Coffee cake? My husband's sister Danielle made this for Breakfast on our Girls weekend, then made it for Labor day too. It's so good, you could eat 1/2 the pan easily.

Coffee Cake
(this one you want to double if you're using a 9X13 pan)

For Cake:
1 Cup Flour
1/4 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Buttermilk
1/3 Cup Margarine (we like to call this OLEO in honor of our Grandmothers)
1 Egg

For Topping:
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 tsp Cinnamon

For Glaze:
1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
3-4 tsp Milk
1/4 tsp Vanilla

Grease and Flour 9X13 Pan. You can use a 9X9 pan as well, then just make a single batch of this, which is what this recipe states.

Combine all Cake ingredients, and blend at Low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at Medium speed, and spread into pan.

Blend topping ingredients together and sprinkle over the batter

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 Minutes, or until tester comes out clean

Blend Glaze ingredients until smooth, then drizzle over top of Baked Cake.

Serve with any other breakfast accompianments, I would like to suggest the Bacon and Sausage that comes from Thielan Meats here in MN. It is Amazing meat!
